What if MOOOV adopted a different brand identity?
MOOOV Film Festival is a film festival organized by MOOOV. With eight locations, more than 70 films and 40,000 visitors per edition, MOOOV Film Festival is the most important Belgian film festival for alternative cinema. Mooov is situated in the alternative/artistic film circuit. This is reflected in our rebranding study.
We opted for a ‘less is more’ typography with its own twist. We apply the square brackets, or brackets, to [un] and [dis] and create a lot of white space. They provide a simple, clean look that suits a leading cultural organization.


We isolated the ‘OOOs’ from the name ‘mooov’. They were transformed in a surprising way into icons that radiate expression/emotions. Film is feeling. Film is experience. Movie is emotion. In addition, we focus on a range of sleek, colorful elements. These can vary in terms of setting from tight to extremely playful.
The house style colors consist of a number of fixed basic colors in combination with black. As a style for the images, we deliberately choose black and white, with image processing that accentuates the alternative atmosphere. With all these elements, a foundation has been developed for a unique and recognizable visual identity that you can use in all directions: brochures, leaflets, posters, banners, tickets, …
